1 cell phone per inhabitant

in the worlwide population (2013)

In his 2013 report [1], ITU reports nearly as many cell phones as inhabitants in the world (96%). More precisely, ITU denombrates the number of active accounts and not the count of terminals.

Still, mmany people don't own a cell phone; this value is an average. In fact, only 40% of world population is connected, while many people possess several phones.
